Wizz Air low-cost company will launch three new routes starting June 26, from Bucharest towards Torino, Dusseldorf and Zaragoza, with a frequency of two flights per week and will allocate a fourth Airbus A320 aircraft for the base in Bucharest.
Tariffs for flights towards Torino and Dusseldorf start at EUR 21 all taxes included, while for Zaragoza ticket’s price start at EUR 33.
Flights towards Zaragoza and Dusseldorf will be available from Cluj-Napoca also, starting June 12 and June 26 respectively. Wizz Air low-cost company reported EUR 500 mil. turnover worldwide in 2009. The company transported 7.8 mil. passengers. The average price per passenger was EUR 64, which will fully cover the operating costs and also generate a profit margin.
In 2009, Romania represented the second market for Wizz Air, following Poland, both from the number of passengers transported and revenues criteria.
Wizz Air transported 1.65 mil. passengers on the local market, Romania having provided 21.2% of the total passengers of Wizz Air. For this year, the airline operator envisages to transport approximately 2 mil. passengers on the relationship with Romania and estimates an occupancy of approximately 85%.
