Wizz Air – the new leader on the airline market in Romania

Wizz Air low-cost company announced becoming the leader of the airline market in Romania in the first quarter of 2009, transporting over 313,000 passengers, overrunning Tarom by only 1,000 passengers.

The increase is the result of significant investments on the Romanian market, stated Wizz Air representatives. In March 2009, Wizz Air opened the third operational base in Romania.

In the first three months of 2009, Tarom transported 312,000 passengers, according to the Association of European Airlines, AEA.
