UNWTO foresees a growth of 2% for foreign tourists arrivals globally, in 2008

UNWTO (The United Nations World Tourism Organization) foresee for this year an increase of 2% for foreign tourists arrival worldwide. In the past 3 years, the annual increase was of 7%. UNWTO specified that the crisis effects would have a greater impact in 2009.
Between January and April, the number of foreign tourists’ arrivals increased by 5.7% worldwide, compared to the same period in 2007.
In the first 8 months of 2008, 642 mil. tourists travelled globally, 23 mil. more than the same period in 2007.
