TUI envisages a long term partnership with Romania

Following the meeting with Elena Udrea, interim Minister of Tourism, TUI German operator’s representatives stated that they would like the partnership with Romania to be a long term solution, valid not only for 2010.

The Manager of Product Management department within TUI, Gero Eden, specified that TUI operator’s representatives will meet more often with Romanian officials to establish the marketing measures Romania will apply within this partnership.

Ministry of Tourism representatives stated that Romania will attend the main tourism fairs in Germany, according to the partnership with TUI operator. 

Elena Udrea stated that the brochure promoting Romania through TUI operator will be on the market within three weeks and distributed to over 10,000 reseller agents, partners of the German operator.

The 24 pages brochure is valid for 2010 summer season and will be edited in 120,000 copies.

Udrea stated the ministry contributed for each copy of the brochure with EUR 0.83, value including their design, production and distribution.

Further, Elena Udrea added that Romania will try to expand the cooperation to be promoted as tourism destination in other countries where TUI is represented.

TUI German operator has a 29% market share and approximately 13 mil. customers each year. The company has 7,000 employees and approximately 1,800 own travel agencies.

TUI Germany is the subsidiary of TUI Travel PLC concern, the largest tourism concern in the world, with over 45,000 employees and EUR 18 bn. net profit.
