Elena Udrea, the Minister of Tourism, stated that she will promote and allocate funds from the ministry’s budget to support the project, which will reach a total value of approximately EUR 200 mil.

“Bucegi - investment in the future” project envisages turning the region into a major tourism hot-spots of Romania.

Florin Popescu, president of Dambovita County Council, stated that there is a project in Padina Pestera region of 56.1 km of ski, with springboards, ski fond, nautical pool and skating ring.

Popescu stated that the main problem in implementing the project is infrastructure and cable utilities, as the region needs access roads and water cleaning plants. Moreover, the project includes a cable connection between Prahova Valley and Moeciu region.

The president of Dambovita County Council stated that he plans to set up a similar camp to those for American boy scouts on the place of a former military base.
