Romanians have not dropped holidays. They only reduced travel budgets and envisage all inclusive holidays and tours which represents positive signals for travel agencies.
Alin Burcea, Paralela 45 President stated in 2009 the number of cultural tours increased as well as city breaks and many new destinations emerged. This year, there is a high demand for all inclusive packages.
Turkey continues to be the Romanian tourist favorite destination, but operators hope that Greece and Spain will also reposition as attractive destinations.
As regards tourism investments, Dorin Gherghina, General Manager of Control Division within the Ministry of Tourism, stated that there is an increased interest for construction of boarding houses and hotels.
