The Romanian tourism will slightly recover in the second half of the year

Add comment

The trend of the Romanian tourism is seen differently by specialists, but they all agree that the impact of the crisis will continue in 2010, as well, at least in the first half of the year, which might be followed by a slightly recovery.

One of the most optimistic forecasts show a tourism increase by 5% in 2010, compared to 2009.

The National Association of Travel Agencies, ANAT, foresees that Romanian tourism will recover in the second half of the year, in case several measures are applied.

Therefore, it will be necessary to develop the program for holiday tickets, of early booking programs and special offers, as well as reducing or maintaining prices on tourism packages.

Daniel Vasilescu, President of the National Association of Tourism Owners, FPTR, specified that once the summer season begins the estimated decrease of 12-13% on tourism services market in 2009 could be recovered until the end of the year, when the market will recover to the level of 2008.

Most specialists consider that small travel agencies, which managed to face the first year of economic crisis, will be less impacted in 2010 than big travel agencies, especially due to their low operational costs.
