According to a study performed by AACR, Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority, the number of business flights dropped in the first two months of the year, by 33.6%. As a result of the crisis, the businessmen travelling at premium class are now choosing economic class tickets.

Moreover, the passengers’ traffic registered on airports in Romania increased by 7.85% in the first two months of 2009, compared to the same period last year, taking into consideration a similar number of movements of aircrafts.  In the same period, a number of 1,142,552 passengers used Romanian airports, both for domestic and external flights.

Low-cost companies on airports in Romania registered an increase of approximately 27% compared to the similar period last year.

Cargo flights maintained, which can be considered an advantage under the actual economic situation.
