Add comment

In the first semester of the year, the number of hotel units put on sale increased by approximately 60%, from 217 offers at the beginning of the year to approximately 344 offers at present. Most properties put on sale are located in Prahova and Brasov counties, according to the study of imobiliare.ro website.

Adrian Erimescu, General Manager of imobiliare.ro, stated that most offers are located in Prahova county, where 52 hotels and boarding houses are put on sale.

Constanta occupies an intermediary position in the top of counties with most hotels put on sale, occupying the fifth position, with 20 sale offers.

Prices are ranging from EUR 120,000 to EUR 15 mil.

Owners putting on sale accommodation units are those with small hotels and boarding houses, which are poor positioned. This way, they are trying to see how much their properties really worth. But there are owners who consider leaving the business, stated Sorin Ionescu, managing partner of Fivestar Hospitality.

Ionescu also stated that the next period will be characterized by a negative correction regarding accommodation units, while signs of recovery will not appear until summer 2011.
