The representatives of the most important local airports, Henri Coanda - Otopeni, Aurel Vlaicu - Baneasa and Traian Vuia from Timisoara forecast a total of 8.7 mil. passengers transported from and towards Romania in 2009, 15% higher than the 2008 estimates.
For 2008, it was estimated that the airline traffic could have registered a slower increase than in 2007, which was of 20%.
In 2007, the airline traffic in Romania registered approximately 8 mil. passengers, said Daniel Achim, manager of Airports and Airline Traffic within the Ministry of Transport.
