The Ministry of Tourism to allocate EUR 55.3 mil. for investments in tourism

Last week, the Executive power approved, through a governmental decision, modifying the April annex, which included the distribution of funds for tourism investments in 2009.

Therefore, 3 counties were added to the list of those benefiting of funds, such as Arad, Gorj and Galati. The total value of the financing also increased, by EUR 2.5 mil., up to EUR 55.3 mil.

In April this year, the Ministry of Tourism allocated EUR 52.8 mil. tosupport the financing of 46 investment projects in tourism.

The Arad Local Council benefited of EUR 781,395 for developing Neptun thermal pool, Gorj County Council received EUR 93,023 to recover several heritage objects, while Galati County Council obtained EUR 683,720 for leisure boats.

The most significant modification was in the case of Maramures county, receiving EUR 7.95 mil., compared to EUR 5 mil., as it was stipulated in the law regulation in April.

Borsa Local Council obtained EUR 4 mil. for the project Ski in Romania.

Sf. Gheorghe locality was granted EUR 976,744 to rehabilitate the ski structure in Sugas-Bai area.

Nucet local county, Bihor county benefited of EUR 500,000 for Ski in Romania project.

However, as a result of this modification, several projects have been redistributed lower amounts than the ones allocated in April.

Therefore, Hunedoara county was granted only EUR 3.7 mil., considering that EUR 6.60 mil. were allocated in April. For the Ski in Romania project, Petrosani Local County obtained only EUR 465,116, while in April received EUR 3.44 mil.

Dambovita County Council received EUR 46,511 for the project to develop and rehabilitate chalets, mountain refuges and mountain rescue settlements, upgrading the signage system on mountain trails, while in April benefited of EUR 2.18 mil.

In Cluj county financing dropped from EUR 1.88 mil. down to EUR 837,209, mainly due to the reduction of the amounts allocated for the Ski in Romania program, which envisaged Baisoara locality, from EUR 1.46 mil. down to EUR 53,488.
