The Ministry of Tourism launched the tender book for Romania's brand auction

The company to create the national tourism brand of Romania will be selected following an international auction until the end of April. According to the Ministry of Tourism, the main condition for the participants is to have had already developed a similar project.

Stefan Lungu, communication manager within the Ministry of Tourism, stated the announcement of the auction for country brand will be published in international newspapers until the end of March. The deadline is 20 days from the publication of the announcement.

Lungu stated the tourism brand would cost approximately EUR 2 mil.

For developing the project, only specialized companies in brand consultancy will be selected and not full service communication agencies.

Moreover, the average turnover for the last 3 years of bidders should be at least equal to the maximum amount allocated to the project, respectively EUR 2 mil. The companies should have developed a similar project with a value of over 30% of the budget for the tourism brand of Romania, stated Lungu.

Participants to auction may conclude partnerships before the qualifying period.

The brand will be developed following the designation of the auction’s winner ujntil September this year. After this stage, another auction will be held in autumn to nominate the company to promote the tourism brand.

The tender book for the international auction was developed at the Ministry for Tourism request, by an international consortium encompassing International Advertising Association, the Union of Advertising Agencies in Romania and the Romanian Association of Public Relation Specialists.
