Developing a spa and leisure complex at Snagov, rehabilitating the royal railway station in Sinaia and developing the leisure infrastructure on Lacul Morii in Bucharest are included on the list of programs and investment projects in tourism financed from the state budget, valued at EUR 40 mil.
In addition, the list of the Ministry of Development also contains the construction of a pool in Arad, the development of several spa complex in Beius, Bors and Sacuieni and of an aqua park located in Baile Felix and rehabilitating tourism trails in Fagaras, Piatra Craiului and Bucegi Mountains.
A spa park will be developed at Ocna Sibiului resort. The outdoor salt mines will be modernized and investments in the ski area of Semenic Mountains will be also carried out.
There will also be developed ski areas located in Nucet - Bihor, Baisoara - Cluj, Sugas-Bai - Covasna, Borsec - Harghita, Durau - Neamt, Brasov, Predeal, Busteni, Sinaia, Azuga, Rasnov and Paltinis areas, Lupeni, Petrosani and Vulcan in Hunedoara county and in Mogosa, Borsa and Cavnic in Maramures.
Investments will also be made in developing the tourism infrastructure and setting up a marina in Oltenita, in developing the tourism infrastructure in Sarata-Monteoru resort and Borcea channel of the Danube river.
At the same time, leisure marinas will be developed in Tuzla, Ostrov, Capidava and Topalu localities in Constanta, as well as in Galati.
Further investments will be made in tourism infrastructure of resorts located on the Romanian seaside, such us Costinesti, Eforie, 23 August, Limanu, Mangalia, Techirghiol and Tuzla, as well as in Amara, Simian island and Drobeta-Turnu Severin.
In Covasna county the treatment facility in Hatuica locality will be modernized, a narrow railway between Comandau and Covasna will be set up and the traditional baths from Moacsa, Cernat, Bradut and Turia will be rehabilitated.
In Harghita the traditional baths will be modernized in several localities, like Borsec and Tusnad. Investments will be made in greening Lacul Rosu resort and tourism infrastructure will be developed.
In Praid locality, a spa complex will be developed, while in Remetea a health centre will be developed.
In Suceava county, Bailor Casino in Vatra Dornei resort will be rehabilitated and the salt mine in Cacica will be developed. Investments are also planned for the ski areas in Campulung Moldovenesc, Malini and Sucevita localities, while in Lunca Dornelor a leisure complex will be developed. In Valcea county investments will be made in leisure infrastructure of Calimanesti – Caciulata and Voineasa resorts, while in Olanesti a treatment facility will be developed. The tourism infrastructure in the historical region of Horezu depression will be rehabilitated.
The projects are included in the four national programs of tourism investments, respectively “Ski in Romania”, “Developing tourism infrastructure in the upper mountain area”, “Sustainable and integrated development of spa resorts” and “Sustainable and integrated development of Delta Danube tourism region and Black Sea tourism resorts”.
