By the end of 2010, Wyndham international chain will open the first Days Inn hotel in Romania.
The hotel which will be 3 star classified, will have 120 rooms and will be located outside Bucharest.
Tinu Sebesanu, CEO of Trend Hospitality consulting company, stated that neither the main hotel units affiliated to international companies have not escaped the crisis. Discounts made 5 star hotels to impact the market shares of 4 star hotels, which affected the 3 star hotels market and so on. It is impossible to apply tariffs at the level before the crisis, specified Sebesanu.
The company’s plans to expand the network of Ramada units at local level continue as the crisis has not affected them, according to Tinu Sebesanu. Therefore, two new hotels will open under Ramada brand in 2010, one in Oradea and the other in Cluj, while in 2011 other two units will open, one in Pitesti and the other one at the seaside, in Mamaia resort.
The average investment in a Ramada unit ranges between EUR 10 and 15 mil.
