A building from the former communist camp, located in Periprava, was renovated and is currently under developing into a 4 star hotel by a group of investors, represented by Sylvain Remetter, a Frenchman from Alsacia, settled in the region 7 years ago.
The hotel will be named The Final Frontier and, starting this spring, the unit’s management plans to attract tourists, ornithologists and professional fishermen, expected to revitalize the region, located in a natural unique environment.
According to the German newspaper Der Spiegel, writing about this investment, the former camp turned a forgotten corner of the Danube Delta into a paradise for nature lovers.
Remetter, familiar with the history of the place, stated that, following the approval of its application for obtaining funds from the European Union, he plans to develop a small museum, as well.
