The arrivals and overnight stays dropped in Brasov county

In September 2009, arrivals in accommodation establishments located in Brasov county registered a 24.4% decrease, compared to the same month in 2008, according to the data of the Brasov County Division for Statistics.

In the analyzed period, 40,732 tourists arrived in Brasov county out of which 31,835 were Romanians and 8,897 foreigners. In 2008, the number of tourists was 53,915 tourists, out of which 41,985 were Romanians and 11,930 foreigners.

Between January 1 and September 30, 2009, 337,151 tourists arrived in Brasov county, out of which 274,424 were Romanians and 62,727 were foreign tourists, unlike the first nine months of 2008, when 439,055 tourists visited the county, out of which 351,442 Romanians and 87,613 foreign tourists.

In September 2009, the number of overnight stays in Brasov county was 86,264, out of which 68,529 were for Romanian tourists and 17,735 were for foreign tourists. In the same period, the number of overnight stays in Brasov reached 118,762, out of which 91,451 were overnights of Romanian tourists and 27,311 were of foreign tourists.

In the first nine months of 2009, 735,493 overnight stays were reported in Brasov county, out of which 597,373 were for Romanian tourists and 138,120 were for foreign tourists. In the same period in 2008, Brasov county registered 977,508 overnight stays, out of which 767,956 of Romanians and 209,552 of foreign tourists.

The net occupancy rate in September 2009 dropped 7.6%, compared to September 2008.
