Tax advantages on eco-labelled accommodation facilities in Romania

The accommodation facilities operating with eco label could benefit of tax advantages, if the law project regarding the settlement of mechanisms to stimulate the introduction of eco-label will be approved in the present form, as submitted to the Chamber of Deputies last week.

According to the law initiative, the accommodation facilities obtaining the eco-label will also benefit of income or, if the case, revenue tax exemption up to 10 years.

In order to benefit of the legal provision, sole proprietors, family associations and companies have to meet at least three of the following criteria: use of alternative energy of at least 15% within the tourism activity; use of economic light bulbs of at least 50%; use of eco detergents; selective collection of own wastes; promoting ecological Romanian traditional products; exclusive use of ecological means of transportation for the programs organized for tourists.
