Sureanu Ski Area officially opened on January 24, including seven ski slopes, approximately 7 km long and two ski lifts, set at over 1,900 m altitude, between Sureanu Mountain, Curmatura and Ausel Mountain.
The new tourist destination lies in Poarta Raiului, Heaven’s Gate area, 82 km distance from Sebes locality, Alba county. The investor, Ionut Popa, is the owner of Dip Group SRL Alba Iulia and plans to expand the ski area to 12 km of ski slopes.
A new resort will be developed at Poarta Raiului starting this spring, as the necessary papers are approved and the lands for developing hotels and boarding houses have been already leased.
