Sol Melia plans to enter the hotel market in Romania

Sol Melia Spanish hotel group plans to enter the Romanian market of 4 and 5 star hotels within the next years. the locations envisaged being the capital and seaside resorts.

The company envisages either to take over existing hotels to be upgraded or open new units.

Jose Manuel Navarro, General Manager of the company for Bulgaria, stated that the group evaluates seaside projects, but has not finalized any negotiation.  

The group’s representative specified that the company plans to open a Sol hotel, 4 star classified, at the seaside, as for the capital, the 4 and 5 star brands such as Tryp and Melia Hotels & Resorts are considered suitable.

Sol Melia group currently operates 400 hotels in 30 countries, under brands such as Gran Melia, Melia Hotels & Resorts, ME by Melia, Tryp Hotels and Sol Hotels.
