Seaside hotels and mountain resorts reported occupancy rate under 50%

Add comment

In June, occupancy rate in seaside hotels dropped approximately 30-35% compared to the same period in 2008, according to ANAT representatives.

At the same time, Alin Burcea, vice-president of the National Association of Travel Agencies, stressed that mountain hotels also face low occupancy down to 50%.

One of the main causes of the decreasing occupancy in mountain resorts is companies’ decision to reduce budgets for organizing different events.

Burcea specified that, until now, mountain hotels mainly relied on conferences and symposiums organized by companies.

Also, Burcea predicts the though economic period of this year will reduce the business of travel agencies by at least 20%.
