On February 25, Emil Boc Prime-Minister stated, by the occasion of the summit of Danube countries, that the high speed railway line Paris - Strasbourg - Bratislava should be expanded with a new section towards Budapest, Bucharest and Constanta.
According to the Prime-Minister, expanding the line towards the South-Eastern area of the continent could become one of the main projects of Danube Region Strategy.
The Romanian and Hungarian Governments agreed in the meeting of November 2007 to develop together a high speed railway line, TGV type on Budapest - Bucharest - Constanta route, continuing the Paris - Strasburg - Stuttgart - Vienna - Bratislava - Budapest route.
Romanian governmental authorities stated that the works will be completed within 2015, the main problem being the financial support of the project, estimated at billions of euros.
