The Romanian government approved on February 18, through a governmental decision, the introduction of holiday tickets. The value of tickets was settled at six gross minimum salaries in the economy.
Elena Udrea, Minister of Tourism, stated the measure would support the development of national tourism and, moreover, the activity of small and medium enterprises operating in tourism sector.
Employers, activating either in public or private sector may provide their employees with these tickets in the limit of the projected budget. Tickets will be granted as nominal coupons, through the issuing units approved by the Ministry of Finance.
The minister specified that tickets would be available starting Easter holiday. The rules for applying the new system will be approved through governmental decision within 15 days.
