Ionut Negoita, owner of Rin Grand hotel in Bucharest, the largest hotel in Romania, stated the unit's net revenues increased by 15% in the first quarter of the current year, compared to the same period in 2008, up to EUR 2.8 mil.

The revenues generated by conference halls registered a 12% increase, while revenues resulted from accommodation activity increased by 3%, in the first three months of 2009.

In January, the hotel's occupancy rate was 25%, 31% in February and 39% in March.

Negoita planned to start the construction works of a new 2 star hotel in Otopeni this year, but the investment was postponed until the economic situation recovers.

In 2008, Rin Grand Hotel registered revenues of approximately EUR 15 mil. The initial estimates showed an increase up to 20% for 2009.

Negoita also owns in Bucharest Confort Traian, Confort Otopeni and Rin Otopeni hotels. The revenues for these hotels dropped on average by 28% in the first quarter of the current year, compared to the same period in 2008.
