Restaurants target more clients with promotional menus

Add comment
Restaurants faced sales drop from the beginning of this year, the small entrepreneurs even reporting 50% sales decline compared to 2008.

Therefore, restaurants started to launch numerous offers, adapted to the present context, aiming to obtain higher turnover, even though profit margins are cut, in order to stay on the market.

Pizza Hut network, managed through franchise system by American Restaurant System, launched a promotion, popular in the US and Western Europe, called “All You Can Eat”.
For only EUR 4.74, customers can order pizzas and also a refillable soda, with no extra-charge, between 18 and 21 hours.

City Grill, controlled by Dragos Petrescu thorugh Trotter Prim company, introduced approximately 15 promotions in their restaurants, City Grill, Caru’ cu Bere and Buongiorno. Several promotions are part of the group’s marketing strategy, while some adapted to 2009. City Grill has menus for EUR 4.74, while Caru’ cu Bere has special offers for students and retired persons.

If last year restaurants’ owners considered expansion of networks, especially in malls, in 2009 the marketing strategies come first, in the attempt to reach a turnover similar to the last year result.
