Radisson SAS hotel opening in Poiana Brasov was postponed for 2010

Rezidor hotel group, operating Radisson SAS brand, postponed the opening of Radisson SAS hotel located in Poiana Brasov resort, Brasov county, for the first half of 2010, although initially the unit’s opening was scheduled for the last quarter of the current year.

Adrian Adam, marketing and sales manager of Radisson SAS hotel in Bucharest stated the delay is due to the current economic situation that Romania is facing and to the effects of the global financial crisis on real estate sector.

The unit located in Poiana Brasov will comprise 186 rooms, 2 restaurants, a bar, a spa center, conference halls and a skating ring. Nearby the hotel, a professional golf course with 18 holes will open.

The total investment for the hotel in Poiana Brasov is estimated at approximately EUR 60 mil.

Adam stated the expanding strategy of Rezidor for the next years includes opening new units on the Romanian market under Park Inn brand, on the economy segment, not on the high-class segment such as Radisson SAS.

Rezidor operates in Europe under the Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, Regent International Hotels, Park Inn and Country Inns & Suites brands.
