The 5 star hotel Radisson SAS has already registered operational profit although there are only two months since the official opening, other four months being in soft-opening period.
Torbjorn Bodin, General Manager of Radisson SAS, stated that the necessary average revenue per room must be EUR 55 to register profit.
Radisson SAS has an average occupancy rate roundly 50%, below the initial estimate, as a result of financial problems, which had a negative impact on business travel.
Bodin is confident that Radisson SAS will be the leader on the market, position currently held by JW Marriott hotel, although the crisis led to occupancy rate decrease on the total market and Radisson SAS didn’t achieve the occupancy rate initially estimated.
A client spends on average 2.5 nights at Radisson SAS, while 90% of the hotel customers are foreigners.
Radisson SAS has 424 rooms and 12 conference halls, with a total capacity of 1,000 persons.
The unit has already closed approximately 150 corporate contracts for the next year. Bodin foresees that 40-50% of the turnover will be generated by food& beverages segment and the rest by accommodation services.
