Planning works of turning Aninoasa Mine in a museum will start in August

The mine located in Aninoasa, Hunedoara county, will be turned into a tourist attraction. Construction works will start at mid-August.
 
According to the local authorities, the auction to implement the project was adjudged.

Ilie Botgros, Mayor of Aninoasa city, stated that the investment will be completed within 3 years.

The local administration obtained the necessary funding of USD 2.2 mil. from the World Bank and USD 1.1 mil. from the Romanian Government.

According to the project, the underground museum will cover an area of 2 ha and will be designed as a real mine, with specific facilities, underground trains, small lamps to show the history of mining, from 1885 until present.

Moreover, the project will include developing Aventura Park, so that a part of the town would become an amusement park similar to Disneyland.

Tourism plans of economic recovery of the city include several escalade tours, developing ski slopes with cable transport equipment located at Retezat mountain feet and a hotel with 60 bed places.
