Add comment

The largest ski area in Romania located in Parang resort will be named Alpina Petrosani. Local authorities chose the resort’s name following a competition initiated by the municipality on the Internet. There have been submitted 120 proposals.

The Alpina Petrosani project foresees the development of several ski slopes in Parang Mountain, with a total length of 30 km, the construction of 5 new ski-lifts and slopes, also benefiting of equipments for producing artificial snow.

A mountain gondola starting from Petrosani will facilitate the access of tourists to the resort. Modernizing the existent road to the resort is also included in the plans.

The project has a value of EUR 68 mil. The Romanian government, local budget of Petrosani municipality and European funds will provide the necessary funds.

The auction for selecting the constructor will be held in July. The construction works are to be completed within 4 years.
