Over 9 mil. passengers on Romanian airports in 2009

Last year, 9,092,853 passengers embarked/ debarked on Romanian airports. The figure is close to the previous year one, according to the National Institute of Statistics, released by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, MTI.

Out of the 9,092,853 passengers, 4,568,423 embarked and 4,524,430 debarked.

Also, 1,235,000 passengers were registered on the domestic flights, while approximately 7,858,000 passengers were reported on international flights.

Freight loaded/ unloaded on Romanian airports cumulated 24,499 tones in 2009, out of which 8,790 represented loaded tones and 15,709 unloaded tones.

According to the INS, there were registered 160,047 aircrafts movements, increasing by 6.61% compared to 2008, when 150,120 movements were registered.
