Tour-operators in Romania plan for 2009 introducing new charters, aggressively promoting some destinations. They consider several foreign tourism packages will become cheaper as a result of a decreasing demand influenced by the economic crisis. Traian Badulescu, spokesman of the National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT), considers that multiplying of tourism packages for resorts in Austria, Croatia and Slovenia has already become visible. Austria will also try to attract tourists during summer and thus, have an aggressive promotion, at low prices, stated Badulescu. ANAT expects outgoing sector in 2009 to register a slowing down of the growth from 30% this year to 10-20% due to the global financial crisis.
