The National Company Henri Coanda International Airport Bucharest, AIHCB, reported a turnover of approximately EUR 66 mil. in the first 11 months of 2009, 3% higher compared to the same period in 2008.
The turnover estimated for 2009 reaches EUR 75.3 mil., increasing by 8% compared to the result posted in 2008, according to the data provided by the company.
AIHCB registered a gross profit of EUR 20 mil. in the first 11 months of 2009.
The total gross profit for 2009 was estimated at approximately EUR 24.3 mil., decreasing by approximately 12% compared to 2008.
In 2009, the main investments of AIHCB envisaged the completion of works within second and third phase of the objective “Development and Modernizing”. The works included the connection between terminals, the warehouse for maintaining equipments, water tank against fire, rehabilitating of the control tower and the November passage.
At the same time, the works included in the third phase were continued by the development of a parking between the North and South roundabouts, expanding the Finger and completing the expanding works of the check-in area.
Other investments within AIHCB envisaged the completion of repairs on runway no. 2, developing two parking areas with 521 lots, optimizing the security control system of hold luggage to 100%, modernizing the water supply network, developing a system of irrigation with sprinklers to ensure the daily irrigation of approximately 3500 sq m and feasibility study for upgrading the power distribution station.
