New tourism projects on Danube, in Mehedinti county

Stefan Lungu, communication manager within the Ministry of Tourism, stated the Ministry will support the local authorities in Mehedinti to develop tourism ports on Danube river as well as introducing in tourism of the Ada Kaleh island from Simian Island sector.
Lungu stated that the County Council of Mehedinti will submit to the Ministry the proposal of tourism projects for this area within 4 weeks. The Ministry for Tourism will analyse the possibilities of starting the works.
Developing several ports for cruise ships to anchor on Danube, developing a gondola to connect the left shore of Danube with the Island and purchasing crafts to facilitate the access in the Cazane region are a few of the proposed projects.
The representatives of the Minstry for Tourism showed interest in the proposal of the Mehedinti County Council to promote cave tourism.
