The counselors of the capital are working on a tourism promotion project. The former tennis player Ilie Nastase will promote the Bucharest image.
Thus, according to the project, 15 boats with sails will be located on the lakes administrated by the city hall of the capital and on Dambovita river. The boats will function as tourist information offices and restaurants. In addition, there will be 30-40 gondolas on Dambovita lake, stated the president of the Commission for Commerce, Tourism and Consumer Protection within the Bucharest city hall, Mihai Neagu.
A company importing boats and gondolas from Holand came up with the initiative. The partnership between the company and the city hall will be a public-private one.
The project will be analyzed within the commission’s meeting this week, when representatives of Apele Romane and Apa Nova company will attend.
Also, the mayor of Bucharest sector 2, Neculai Ontanu has a project of developing a gondola over the capital’s rivers. The gondola will meet several functions: tourism, leisure and public transport. The project implies designing parking areas at the end of the line to allow easing road traffic by crossing the capital with this mean of transportation.
