The Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism will participate for the third time to the European project entitled European Destinations of Excellence, EDEN, launched by the European Commission in 2006, whose main target is the development of sustainable European tourism and raising awareness to the non-traditional destinations.
MDRT will organize a national project competition to select the destination of excellence of Romania, according to the EDEN theme, annually chosen within the Consultative Committee for Tourism. For 2010 edition, the theme is aquatic tourism.
The contest is open for tourism resorts, either of national interest or local one, recognized by law, whose proposals include as key element a water resource.
The deadline to submit proposals is May 10, 2010. The offers will be submitted to the Ministry of Regional Development.
