The German Marten Schoenrock took over the General Manager position within the InterContinental Bucharest Hotel from Jonathan Soper who occupied the position since January 2007. Jonathan Soper followed the Swiss Hans Rudolf Rutti.
Marten Schoenrock has a 15 years experience in InterContinental, also occupying the hotel manager position at InterContinental Berlin and the manager position at InterContinental Chicago. He will have to supervise the unit’s upgrading process, started this year.
For 2008, it is estimated the turnover reached EUR 15 mil., considering the 383 rooms.
Intercontinental Romania Hotel Company (CHIR) owns InterContinental Hotel in Bucharest. The shareholders are RHIC Holding SA (49,1%), the company from Luxemburg, Nova Trade (15,7%), SC Lido SA (11,8%) as well as other minor shareholders according to Bucharest Stock Exchange.
