According to Ziarul Financiar estimates which took into consideration 4.5 mil. passengers for the local traditional airline market, the low-cost traffic will exceed half of the number of passengers transported by traditional airline companies.
Thus, the low cost companies in Romania will transport 2.5 to 2.7 millions passengers.
The first three low cost operators on the local market, providing 90% of the total traffic, Blue Air, Wizz Air and MyAir companies, have already transported in the first nine months of 2008 approximately 1.7 mil. passengers, 40% more than the previous year. The number is foreseen to reach 2.5-2.7 million passengers by the end of the year.
For 2008, the companies estimate turnovers of EUR 120 mil. in the case of Blue Air, EUR 50 mil. for MyAir, respectively EUR 70 mil. for Wizz Air.
