Investments in tourism infrastructure of Piatra Neamt city

On May 29, the Ministry for Tourism, Elena Udrea and Gheorghe Stefan, Mayor of Piatra Neamt city, Neamt county, signed a cooperation agreement between the institutions they represent.

The protocol’s objective is the financial support from the Ministry of Tourism for a project to develop the tourism infrastructure in Piatra Neamt city. The project comprises three main components such as developing tourism infrastructure in Cozla mountain, a tourism trail on Pietricica mountain and cable transport installation between the two areas. The Ministry of Tourism will contribute with EUR 2.38 mil. to the project development.

Developing tourism infrastructure in Cozla mountain includes a cable transport installation for tourism transport, setting up ski and toboggan runs with additional maintenance facilities. It also includes developing a renting sport equipment and services center, as well as, artificial snow and lighting facilities.

For Pietricica tourism trail, the objectives are to develop a pedestrian trail, rest areas, an elevator with 2 terminus stations on covered platforms of approximately 50 sq m and parallel stairs to the operating cable for maintenance and emergency.
