Add comment
The increasing demand for holidays in rural destinations made the boarding houses owners to increase the number of bed places, choosing to develop boarding houses with at least 10 rooms, implying investments of EUR 200,000.

At present, there are 5,000 boarding houses on the Romanian market. Most of them, 45% have three to five rooms, 35% have less than three rooms, approximately 17% have six to ten rooms and only 3% own 10-20 rooms, stated Maria Stoian, honorific president of ANTREC, National Association of Rural, Ecological and Cultural Tourism.

According to the data provided by ANTREC, 85% of the agri- tourism boarding houses are located in villages, 10% in smaller towns such as Rasnov, Horezu or Novaci, while 5% are located in villages close to cities.

The most developed agri-tourism regions are located in Brasov county, Bran-Moeciu area, Maramures, Bucovina and Marginimea Sibiului.
