In June this year, Iaki hotel in Mamaia resort, 4 star classified, owned by Gheorghe Hagi, the former football player, posted revenues of EUR 400,000. increasing by 30.7% compared to the same period in 2009. The average occupancy was 66% in June, compared to 60% in May, 46% in April and 44% in February.
Due to rehabilitation works, the hotel operated with 77 rooms until middle June last year. At present, the unit operates 122 rooms. Anca Nedea, General Manager of Iaki hotel, stated that the unit focused on marketing mix and different niches on the market.
In 2009, the hotel invested EUR 5.5 mil. in developing 24 rooms, a restaurant with 270 seats, upgrading the floors and interior decorations.
The hotel’s manager specified that the hotel signed contracts with foreign tour-operators, but also with travel agencies on the domestic market to attract more guests. The hotel is also present online.
Iaki hotel collects 44% of the revenues from accommodation and 56% of food & beverage. Anca Nedea stated that the number of events organized on the conferences segment also increased.
