Howard Johnson Grand Plaza: negotiations for 10% price cuts with suppliers

Sonia Nastase, the new General Manager of Howard Johnson Grand Plaza, 5 star classified, stated that they are currently negotiating with the hotel’s suppliers a 10% price cuts to reduce the total operational costs.

Nastase stated that it would be very difficult to work without objectives. Therefore, she is currently working on the budget and strategy for the next year.

For the first nine months of 2009, the hotel sales reached EUR 6 mil., while the estimated turnover for the whole year reaches EUR 9 mil., dropping 30.7% compared to last year.

Between January and August, the hotel operated at an occupancy rate of 50% and dropped rates by 25-30% compared to the last year’s rates.
