In April this year, the 5 star hotel Howard Johnson Grand Plaza in Bucharest posted higher revenues by 5% due to more business events, following 11% decrease of revenues in the first quarter of 2010.
Between January and April 2010, the hotel reported EUR 2.4 mil. turnover, slightly decreasing from EUR 2.5 mil., compared to the similar period in 2009.
Sonia Nastase, General Manager of the hotel, stated that the pressure on tariffs maintained due to the tight competition, the volume of accommodation services and events on business segment as well as on private segment being slightly increasing.
In the first four months, the occupancy was 45%, by 4-5% higher compared to the same period last year.
