Hotel tariffs in Bucharest dropped 20.6% in Q3

In the third trimester of this year, the average tariff per room for hotels in Bucharest dropped 20.6% to EUR 77.97, due to the crisis, compared to the third semester of 2008, when hotels in Bucharest applied an average room rate of EUR 98.22.

The capital of Romania ranks 15th, following Vienna, Berlin and Lisbon, in a top of 20 European cities, carried out by hotel.info booking service.

The first three positions are occupied by Moscow with an average tariff of EUR 149.32, followed by Oslo with EUR 132.52 and Copenhagen with EUR 127.66, the cities with most expensive hotels in Europe.

In summer season, Madrid applied the lowest rates - EUR 76.84, Istanbul - EUR 75.36, Warsaw - EUR 73.33 and Prague - EUR 62.9.

New York had the highest accommodation tariffs, with an average of EUR 151.33, followed by Moscow, Oslo, Copenhagen and Zurich with EUR 124.67.

New York, Tokyo, Dubai and Singapore occupy the first three positions in a top of 10 most expensive cities in the world followed by Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, Mexico City, Shanghai, Peking and Bangkok.

The index of hotel rates was carried out on a number of 210,000 units worldwide.
