Hilton hotel chain and Future Invest Romanian-British investment fund signed a management contract for a Hampton hotel in Brasov, the brand on the economy segment of the group.

Developing the hotel unit with 104 rooms will start in spring 2010 and will be completed at the half of 2011. The hotel will be most likely 3 star classified.

Mike Collini, Development Vice-President on Northern Europe of Hilton hotel chain, stated that the main competitors of Hampton brand present in Romania are Ibis from Accor and Express from Holiday Inn.

Hilton hotel’s representative plans to announce signing a contract to open a Hilton Garden Inn unit within 3 months. The company is currently negotiating with several investors.

Adela Cristea, Development Manager of Hilton for Europe and Africa, stated that Hilton plans to reach 20 units on the local market within 5 years. Bucharest is also included in the expanding plans, the company planning to bring a luxury brand, such as Waldorf Astoria or Conrad, up to location.
