Golden Tulip Times hotel in Bucharest, 4 star classified, estimates EUR 2 mil. turnover in 2010, increasing by approximately 10% compared to the previous year and 55% occupancy, higher by 3-4% than in 2009.
In the first quarter of the year, the unit registered 48.6% occupancy, decreasing by approximately 2% compared to the last year, stated Costina Gandac, General Manager of the hotel.
In order to compensate the lower occupancy, the hotel increased tariffs by 6 to 10% since the beginning of the year until present. The increase rate by the end of 2010 will reach 17%, compared to the end of 2009, stated Costina Gandac.
The hotel’s representative stated that the tariff declined 38% last year, compared to 2009 and that it will take years to apply the hotel’s tariffs of 2 years ago.
