Golden Tulip hotel chain envisages opening five more hotels in Romania in 2009. At present, Golden Tulip has affiliated six units on the local market, three in the capital and one in Cluj, Sibiu and Mamaia.
The three units to be opened this year have been postponed for spring 2009, as works are not completed. The three units are: Golden Tulip Palladium in the capital, Golden Tulip Ana in Cluj and Tulip Inn in Moeciu.
Golden Tulip Palladium will be developed by Nord Group following an investment of EUR 12 mil., Golden Tulip Ana Cluj will be developed by Ana Oil and requires an investment of EUR 10 mil., while the hotel in Moeciu is owned by Eurolines group.
Paul Marasoiu, Golden Tulip Regional Manager for Eastern Europe, stated that, at present, the chain focuses on expanding the Golden Tulip network in Iasi, Satu Mare, Deva, Arad, Timisoara and Brasov, mainly hotels which will be affiliated to the 4 star Golden Tulip brand. More, Golden Tulip plans to affiliate a 5 star unit also, outside the capital, by 2011.
