Over 3,000 foreign tourists attended the 19th edition of George Enescu International Festival, held between August 30 and September 26, spending approximately EUR 1.5 mil. in Romania, stated Traian Badulescu, spokesman of the National Association of Travel Agencies, ANAT.
Badulescu stated that approximately 2,500 tickets were sold to the travel agencies. Other 750 were individual tourists. From Europe, most tourists came from France, approximately 400, followed by Great Britain, Germany and Italy.
As it happens every year, approximately 100 Japanese and 140 American tourists arrived for the Festival.
For the first time, Romanian travel agencies specialized on incoming were demanded to start booking for the 2011 edition of George Enescu International Festival.
