George Copos businessman is expecting the approval of a EUR 11 mil. loan in order to start investments in Hilton, Crowne Plaza and Sport hotels. The loan will be contracted from BRD - Societe Generale, a long time financing partner of the company.
EUR 8 mil. are to be invested in a spa center and modernizing Sport hotel and EUR 3 mil. will be invested in refurbishing Hilton and Crowne Plaza Hotels.
If the investments are made for Sport hotel, George Copos foresees that Sport, Bradul and Poiana hotels will double revenues. In 2008, the revenues registered by the units located to the mountain resorts reached EUR 3.5 mil.
Ana Hotels group portfolio includes the 5 star hotels Crowne Plaza and Hilton in Bucharest, Sport, Poiana and Bradul in Poiana Brasov and Europa and Astoria hotels at the seaside. Last year, all hotels have generated revenues of EUR 40 mil. In the real estate sector, Copos plans to develop the office tower, Ana Tower. The investment has not been initiated yet. For the current year, the businessman forecasts that Ana Holding will register a turnover under EUR 100 mil., 20% lower than in 2008, due to the finance crisis, which will have an impact on all companies within the group.
