Four companies owned by George Copos registered 25% turnover decrease in Q1

Ana Hotels, Ana Imep, Ana Pan and Ana Teleferic companies, members of Ana Holding, owned by George Copos businessman, registered a turnover of EUR 8.84 mil. for the first quarter of the current year, declining 25% compared to the similar period last year.  

Also, the four companies cut the number of employees by 400, down to 1,500 employees.

The seven hotels owned by Ana Hotels, operating 1,000 rooms, reported a turnover decrease by 12.3% in the first three months of the year, down to EUR 1.8 mil. according to the data provided by the company.

Ana Imep company registered EUR 5.11 turnover in the first quarter of 2010, by 30.1% less compared to the first three months of last year.

Ana Pan confectionery chain reported a decrease by 15% of turnover in the first quarter of the year, down to approximately EUR 1.09 mil.

Ana Teleferic transport company in Poiana Brasov resort posted EUR 826,100 turnover in the first quarter of 2010, by 16.7% lower than compared to the same period in 2009.

Last year, Copos contracted a loan worth EUR 25 mil. from BRD Bank, for hotel investments and also for the office spaces project, Ana Tower located near Presei Square. The investment in the office spaces building reaches EUR 65 mil., reduced compared to the initial estimate in 2008 of EUR 100 mil. Sportul Hotel in Poiana Brasov will be completely updated, following EUR 10 mil. investment.

George Copos specified that he considers investing abroad, Georgia being envisaged for real estate investments and food industry. He also considers entering the Arab countries market, but he has not provided further details about these projects.
