13 projects worth EUR 72 mil. have been signed in the North-East region between June 2009 and March 2010 for tourism development, within the 2007-2013 Regional Operational Program. The non-reimbursable support reaches approximately EUR 40 mil. according to the North-East Regional Development Agency.
4 out of the 13 projects have been submitted by the local authorities, while several companies from Neamt, Botosani, Iasi, Suceava and Bacau counties initiated 9 projects. 7 projects out of the 9 envisage modernizing and expanding hotels and boarding houses.
Most of contracts, precisely 10, have been signed in relation to the second major domain within axis 5 for tourism development. The other 3 are closed on the 5.1 domain. On the 5.2 domain, there are available approximately EUR 10 mil. Other EUR 14 mil. can be accessed on 5.1 domain.
The project of SC Gemada Serv SRL company in Iasi benefits of the highest non-reimbursable amount for tourism. The project includes developing Royal entertainment center. The company obtained a financing of approximately EUR 10 mil., the total value of the investments exceeding EUR 18 mil.
Another project under implementation, worth EUR 800,000, initiated by SC Telescaun Negresti SRL, includes developing a winter mountain park on the Dealul Negru peak, Vatra Dornei locality.
Suceava county envisages the rehabilitation of the Old Citadel and surrounding areas, Falticeni locality envisages to rehabilitate Ion Irimescu Art Museum, Vaslui county will rehabilitate the historical cultural center in Barlad, while Piatra Neamt city will develop the tourism infrastructure on Cozla mountain, benefiting of over EUR 14 mil. non-reimbursable financial support. The total value of those projects reaches EUR 18 mil.
The funds obtained for tourism development account for approximately 17% of the total value of the non-reimbursable financing obtained by beneficiaries in the North-East region, within the Regional Operational Program on the main five axis.
104 projects benefiting of non-reimbursable financing worth EUR 232 mil. are currently under implementation process.
