EUR 67.4 mil. investment in a new ski resort in Parang Mountain, Hunedoara county

Krantz Eurocenter in Pitesti, Doppelmayr Austria and Acomin Deva companies submitted a tender valued at EUR 67.4 mil. on February 8, in order to develop a new ski complex in Parang Mountain, Hunedoara county.

The project includes a gondola ropeway, 8.25 km long, 7 ski chairs, 17 ski runs with a total length of 23.6 km, night ski lighting, snow making machine, restaurants, sewerage and water supply plants, water reservoir, a new power line etc.

The gondola ropeway will have a capacity of 1,000 people per hour and will generate EUR 6 mil. turnover per year and EUR 3.2 mil. profit. The access ticket will cost EUR 20 per day for all cable facilities.

Marian Popescu, Technical Manager within Petrosani city hall, stated that works will not start immediately, as there still are plots of land to be expropriated in the project’s area, but that works could start this summer.
